The format took off on TikTok in September 2026. It copies a 2022 COLORS session by Quavo and Takeoff: a seamless orange wall, one microphone hanging between the two performers, and a 15-second edit that cuts from wide to medium and back.
Early that month, AI videos of two cats "performing" the session went viral, and searches for "hotel lobby ai" peaked worldwide on 26 September 2026, according to Google Trends.
We made our own version of the clip once, played by AI-generated performers and modeled on the original: hard cuts at 4.5, 7.9 and 11.6 seconds, the point at the camera, the crouch and the back-turned dance, the hand at the lips and the closing salute.
